Wow, it's been a long time since I blogged. Most days, I just feel like I don't have anything exciting enough to blog about. On my sister's blog, I saw she had a list of her 'favorites' and I decided that I wanted to blog about that. So here I go...
1. Peter Walsh's book "It's All Too Much". I first found out about Peter from watching Clean Sweep. Then, I realized, I didn't really like the show as much as I just liked his part where he goes through people's things and helps them declutter. It's only been a few months since I've gotten better about getting rid of things I don't use. Let me tell you - it gives you a high that can be addictive. The same kind of feeling you get after exercising, or getting a haircut. You just feel light - like you've lost weight. And, the great thing is, you don't end up feeling like you have less stuff. You end up feeling like you have QUALITY things that you really like. I look around now and think, "I really like my stuff" instead of seeing so much junk.

2. Dippin' Dots. I'm not sure when I first tasted Dippin' Dots, but I love them! The only problem is that they're so expensive. Luckily, I have a few places where I live that sell them: the movie theaters and the mall. My favorite flavor is Banana Split. I got excited one day to see Wal-mart selling a similar item for only $.99 and of course I had to give it a try. It was so gross I didn't even think it was worth the calories to finish the rest of it. What a disappointment :( Oh well, I'll save my money and get them as a special treat.

3. Running and running shoes. I really hated running when I was younger. I think I was in my teens before I even ran 1 mile. I didn't like it because I wasn't good at it and got so winded and tired. "How can people LOVE running?" I wondered the first few trys. As the years past, my dad got our family excited about triathlons. I wanted to love running, so I started doing it more. It must have been somewhere among the family triathlons and official triathlons that I ended up logging enough miles to finally break through and enjoy running. It's another thing that gets addictive because you love the way you feel (and begin to look) after you run. Sadly, I can't run much now with the little back pain I've been having, but I'm looking forward to this summer!

4. Noodles and Company. This is probably embarrassing to admit, but when Landon and I were deciding where to match for residency, the few things I'd check on Maps.Google is if those locations had a Noodles and Co., Target, and Olive Garden. And I got my wish! (These, of course, weren't the most important things, but I would always check on them). I love the Wisconsin Macaroni and Cheese at Noodles... yum...

5. L'Oreal Feel Naturale. I love this foundation/powder combination. I'm too minimalist (or lazy) with my makeup to have foundation AND powder (basically because I haven't found individuals of those that I love) and I really like how this powder feels.

6. LOST. This is the only show that our Media Player (like TiVo, but from the computer) is currently recording. Landon and I love LOST - though, not as much as my brother, who can tell you everything about it! I've been so excited lately that Jack has been expressing his feelings for Kate! Oh, they'd be so cute together! Though, don't get me wrong, I like Sawyer, but Jack's just so cute.

7. "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" Anyone who really knows me, knows about my obsession with Disney. How I wanted (or should I say want) to work there, how I went on my honeymoon there, how I want to go there basically every day :) This book is one of my favorites because it is so detailed on how to visit the park and get the most from it. It explains the traffic patterns in the park, what are the best times to visit each attraction, what day of the week is best for each park, what time of year is the best for lowest attendance and hotel rates, etc. There's even a link to a website that tells you their estimated attendance at each park on a daily basis (on a scale of 1-10 where the numbers represent the peak wait times for attractions.) Ah, most of what I know of Disney and how to get the most from a vacation there, comes from this book. Although, you'll never be quite the same afterwards. It's hard to eat during 'normal lunch hours' when you know you could have eaten before 11 or after 2 and not be standing in such a long line. Or, going to an attraction and knowing it was better if you had been there before 10AM. So, in some ways it gets you a little more intense, but, on the other hand, you get to see and do everything you want. You even have time to go back to the hotel for a nap during the middle of the day!

8. Rosetta Stone. I borrowed this from the library and it's been a fun way to learn French - though they have it in many languages. I've gone through a few different software programs over the years, and this has been the most fun. Though, I have to admit, it's not all fun in games. I guess like anything worth learning, it still comes down to putting in the time and work and some days you still don't WANT to do it. I wish there were some magical fastpass way (to speak in Disney terms) to learn a language. I'd recommend getting it from the library, because to buy the program is over $200.
